I like the real family story line, seems to relate to real life family situations that happen to large families. Good job Sally Fields it's hard to pic a favorite actor, I like them all. Sure look forward to new episodes.

Here's what's up with that picture:
In the first pilot, Kevin was named Bryan, a prosecutor played by Jonathan LaPaglia, and gearing up for a custody battle with the ex-wife he left after coming out of the closet. With the second pilot, the character was retooled and recast with Matthew Rhys.

Betty Buckley shot the pilot, but she was fired after focus groups reacted negatively to the character when shown the original pilot (the character of the mother was then named Iva March). Sally Field was a late addition to the show as the now renamed mother, Nora Walker. The producers believed Field would be more natural and believable in a maternal role than Buckley was.
