People who pause and allow you to speak, who listen to what you have to say, those are the people that "get" life. That is my opinion. Many times people ask, "how are you?" you answer, meanwhile they say I am fine thank you, and you never asked them how they where to begin with! They where not listening. Formalities do not impress me. I enjoy philosophical conversations with people who get life.
